Hound and Heart Mobile Vet Care was founded and is operated by Dr. Sami Monier-Schmidt. A North Texas native, Dr. Monier developed a deep love for animals at a young age, inspired by her parents’ example of caring for and respecting all living creatures.

She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Just one month later, she married her best friend and began working at a private small-animal practice in Cypress, Texas, where she served for seven years.

Following the birth of their son, Dr. Monier and her family returned to North Texas to be closer to relatives and lifelong friends. While she greatly valued her work in a clinic setting, she felt a strong calling to provide veterinary care in a more personal way—bringing compassionate, high-quality medicine directly to pets and their people in the comfort of their own homes.

Dr. Monier shares her life with her husband, son, three dogs, and a feisty cat who keep her on her toes. Beyond her dedication to animal care, she has a special place in her heart for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Each summer, she volunteers a week of her time at a grief camp for children. She is also a proud supporter of law enforcement officers and first responders.
